Kate Beckinsale is to return as feisty fighter Selene in Underworld 4, it has been confirmed.
Beckinsale has signed up to play the sexy PVC catsuit-wearing vampire who battles werewolves, Variety reports.
Underworld 4 will begin filming in Vancouver in March and is due to be released on January 20, 2012.
John Hlavin has written the script with revisions by J Michael Straczynski, and the film will not be a prequel, as Underworld 3 was.
Producers Wiseman,Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are seeking a director and an actress to play Selene’s daughter in the film.
The three Underworld films, released in 2003, 2006 and 2009 - the first two of which were directed by Wiseman - have made around 300 million dollars worldwide in total.

Kate Beckinsale felt like “a hunchback with blackheads” when she was named Sexiest Woman Alive.
The ‘Nothing But The Truth’ actress says she had never felt so unsexy as when she was given the honour by the US edition of Esquire magazine last October and claims the title has piled pressure on her to look good.
She said: “I felt the least sexy I have ever felt when I was told that. I was told and I thought ‘Marvellous’. The next day the pressure was huge.
“A comedian friend of mine told me that if he was named the funniest person alive he would probably never crack a joke ever again. I woke up the next day and felt like a hunchback with blackheads. Vile. It was a real compliment at the time though.
After she was given the award, 36-year-old Kate - who is married to director Len Wiseman and has a 10-year-old daughter Lily from her relationship with actor Michael Sheen - said she felt the need to go and “earn” the title.
She admitted: “I’m feeling that I must earn this - I need to go out and become much better at pole dancing or something.”

Kate Beckinsale had to re-enact one recent red carpet appearance at home - to make sure photographers hadn’t caught her pantie-less.
The British stunner admits she went commando to one recent screening and left feeling sure snappers had caught her with her panties off!
She reveals, “It was one of those nights when I wore a supertight dress that you couldn’t have worn anything under, since it would have showed.
“The paparazzi were literally lowering their cameras like speculums when I got out of the car.
“On the way home, I said to my husband (Len Wiseman), `Darling, I think they might have gotten it.’ And so when we pulled in (at home) I made him re-enact the thing with his camera - a sort of crime-scene run through.
“It appears I survived unscathed.”

Kate Beckinsale is said to have demanded a butt double for her latest movie – because she thinks she’s fat.
Producers on Whiteout have had to hired a $2000-a-day model to stand in for the star after she refused to bare her rear in shower scene.

Kate Beckinsale isn’t bothered she can’t cook - because she makes up for it in the bedroom.
The Pearl Harbour star admits she is a terrible wife because she cannot cook a decent meal for her husband Len Wiseman. But she insists she makes up for it in other areas.
She tells British magazine Glamour, “I’m the worst wife in the cooking department. I always thought you can’t be good at food and sex, but you can always order the food in.
“I’d rather he didn’t order in the sex.”
